About the Artist Artist, P.A. Barney is based out of the Toledo,Ohio area. He regularly attends numerous art shows, throughout the United States (click here for show schedule). Barney is best known for his custom pieces and elaborate motorcycle art. Barney's Intarsia artwork and patterns are popular in the U.S. as well as internationally. About the Artwork Barnwood products are constructed of aromatic cedar, western cedar and spruce. The artwork is then mounted on cabinet grade plywood. Lacquer sealer and two coats of high gloss lacquer are applied to the completed work. A matte finish is available on request. Each commissioned piece is personally signed and numbered by the artist. These beautiful pieces of art are a perfect gift item for that hard to buy for person on your list, or for a unique accent piece for your home or office. About the Patterns Due to popular demand, Barney is making his custom, hand-drawn working patterns available. These are perfect for woodworking enthusiasts and do-it- yourselfers. Many of the more intricate patterns are not suitable for beginners. We will soon be rating these patterns according to level of difficulty. If your are unsure of the skill level necessary to complete a specific project, please ask us. Intarsia patterns provide the layout and basic shape necessary for completion of each product. A color catalog is included with your order to help you in making your wood selections for the piece. Barney prefers to create a template to work from. To do this, simply obtain clear acetate and trace the pattern on to it with a felt tip marker. The actual shaping of each piece is a personal preference of the artist. As you shape each piece, see how it fits in with the others and shape as necessary to recreate a realistic look. How to Order You may purchase the artwork or patterns through our secure online ordering system, or by using our mail-in form. We accept all major credit cards, money orders and checks drawn on US banks. Additional artwork, patterns and custom orders are also available (we can recreate just about any image in wood).
